My area of specialization is philosophy of mind. I am also interested in philosophy of psychology and cognitive science, as well as to debates in moral, social and feminist philosophy.
Much of my research has been informed by psychology and some by the social sciences. I have a long.standing interest in deviations from an overtly rational model of the mind. I also have a long standing interest in situating human cognition in a social context. I wrote my PhD thesis on emotions, and I participated in an interdisciplinary project on fake news detection as part of the program "Global Young Faculty V". Currently I am working on implicit bias, stereotypes and unintentional discrimination. I have also been working on emotions. My publications are here and recent and upcoming talks and events are here. These days I am also interested in seriously applied philosophy, so if you think you could need advise by a philosopher on anything that pertains to these topics, drop me a line. Until 2019 I worked as an assistant professor at Technical University Dortmund in Germany. Before that I completed my PhD at Ruhr-University Bochum, and my studies at Humboldt-University Berlin and Maastricht University. Since 2014, I have been deputy chairwoman of the German-speaking Society for Women in Philosophy, SWIP Germany e.V. |
